This is an exciting collection of some of the best-known and most interesting harmonica licks and effects. The first few pages of this book offer reference and review material. Harmonica notation is explained, defining the special symbols for blow notes, draw notes, bends, and other techniques. Included is a useful "Reference Guide for Harmonica Notation." Although rarely more than four measures in length these licks range from the very easy to the extremely challenging. At times, the author combines four licks to form a complete tune. The accompanying CD demonstrates each of the 60 licks on solo harmonica. Several of the licks also appear on the CD accompanied by a band.
